Half-Time Admission Scholarship
The Half-Time Admission Scholarship is a merit-based award offered to applicants who plan to pursue a half-time graduate program, taking a minimum of six credits per semester.
Scholarship Criteria
Applicants offered admission for fall 2019 and spring 2020 to a campus-based graduate degree program will be automatically considered for the Admission Scholarship. The award requires excellent academic performance at previous institutions and future academic promise.
Terms of the Award
The scholarship will be in the amount of $2,500 or $5,000. Funds are meant to assist students with their cost of attendance, and will be put into student accounts. One half of the funds will be awarded in the fall and the remaining half will be awarded the following spring, as long as academic criteria are met.
To Receive Consideration
Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis to eligible applicants who are offered admission. Prospective students are encourage to apply for admission early, as awards will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
This award is designed to support first-time, newly enrolling graduate students beginning in the fall semester who enroll in at least six credits. The scholarship is offered at the time of admission to Penn State at The Navy Yard. Applicants are not required to submit a Scholarship Application or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Chancellor's Scholarship
Offered through Penn State Great Valley, the Chancellor’s Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship for individuals who are planning to pursue a graduate program full-time at Penn State at the Navy Yard beginning in the fall semester. Students must be taking 12 credits per semester.
Scholarship Criteria
Applicants offered admission for fall to a campus-based graduate degree program will be automatically considered for the Chancellor's Scholarship.Applicants must be planning to enroll in a graduate degree program offered at Penn State at the Navy Yard on a resident instruction basis. The award requires excellent academic performance at previous institutions and future academic promise.
Terms of the Award
The Chancellor's Scholarship will be in the amount of $10,000 or $15,000. Funds are meant to assist students with their cost of attendance, and will be put into student accounts. One half of the funds will be awarded in the fall and the remaining half will be awarded the following spring, as long as academic criteria are met.
Scholarship recipients must enroll in 12 credits in each of their first and second semesters in order to receive and maintain this scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded over two semesters; disbursement of the award in the second semester will be conditional on the student maintaining at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.25/4.0 and completing a course load of 12 credits in each semester of the award.
In order to be considered full-time, students may need to take classes at Penn State Great Valley in Malvern in addition to the Navy Yard.
To Receive Consideration
The Chancellor’s Scholarship is offered only at the time of a selected student’s formal offer of admission to a graduate degree program. It is designed to support newly-enrolling, first-time students. It does not require submission of the Campus Scholarship Application or a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The deadline to apply for admission and receive consideration for this scholarship is May 31. Early application is encouraged.
Applicants will automatically be considered for this award if they indicate on the admissions application that they plan to enroll on a full-time basis. Note that 12 credits must be completed in each of your first and second semesters to receive and maintain this scholarship.
