The Energy Innovation Leadership Experience is open to undergraduate and graduate students studying engineering in the United States.
Students are accepted into the program based on receiving an internship offer from one of the participating employers. 2018 employers included:

- Penn State
- ProtoGen Energy
- Square K Energy
Commitment
Internships will be a part-time commitment that includes approximately 300 hours of work from May 13–August 7, 2019. Students will typically work Monday–Friday from 8 a.m.–2 p.m. and are provided a wage with the rate at the discretion of the participating company.
Students will also take 1-2 architectural engineering courses for 3–6 credits during the program. 2018 courses include:
AE 498 – Leadership in Building Energy Efficiency
AE 469 – Solar Design and Construction
AE 497 – Living Building Systems
Program Costs
Tuition, one course (three credits) required:
- Pennsylvania in-state – $2,529
- Out of state – $4,380
